The Drama Department at Dominion Ridge Academy performed Disney’s Aladdin Jr. for its 2019 musical production. Every year the Dominion musical results in annual standing ovations and celebrations of student talents. More often than not students who are least likely to speak out in class find their voice on the Dominion stage.
Our Drama director, Mrs. Tammy Coffman, along with volunteer experts in choreography and voice, bring together their years of experience and professional training, to direct, choreograph, orchestrate, and present a show worthy of recognition throughout the community.
Students anxiously await each fall for the name of the musical to be announced. Once announced, they register their interest and can immediately be heard rehearsing throughout the school until the day they are scheduled for audition. Past musicals have ranged from historical themes to classics like Annie. The past two years have been modern pieces, including Shrek, Madagascar, Beauty and the Beast, an Aladdin.
Getting involved with the Drama Department, whether on stage or behind the scenes, is one of the most popular extracurricular activities at Dominion.
